Bob’s Hub – A Voice From Exile

USPA NEWS - In a world where silence is often safer than truth, some still choose to speak. One of them is Saman Hajibabaei, an Iranian-born journalist and entrepreneur, now living in exile in Germany. His story is not just of migration, but of resistance — and rebuilding.

While legally residing in Germany under protection, Hajibabaei received an official court notice from Iran, accusing him of “inciting against national security” following his public commentary on the 2022 protests after the death of Mahsa Amini.
The document, issued in absentia, was a reminder that for many exiles, repression crosses borders.
I realized then that if I couldn’t be safe in Iran, I had to become useful in exile, says Hajibabaei.
That’s why I created Bob’s Hub — to help others who are lost in foreign systems, just as I once was.

Although the country and people of Germany have undeniably offered me and many others a chance at peace, I still carry the weight of knowing I may be seen as an outsider — perhaps even a burden.
And that’s what drives me:
A daily effort, born out of gratitude for what this country has given my children, and a responsibility to help others who — like me — once woke up, checked their email, and realized that speaking truth has a price:
A court order from the Islamic Republic.

Today, it’s been one year and two months since I first saw my own ruling.
I’ve never spoken of it publicly — until now.
Because no one truly understands what it feels like to be told by your own homeland that your voice makes you unworthy of home.

This pain is not theoretical.
It's exile.
And Bob’s Hub is my answer to it.

Maybe Bob’s Hub helps me cope with the pain of not belonging.
Maybe this dream I silently carry inside will one day come true.
Yes, I want to live with dignity.

I see. I stay silent.
And I hold a dream close to my heart:

That one day, I can invite all the good people of this world to my homeland — Iran.

To tell them:

This is the place I once raised my voice for.
Here, there is air, there are mountains, friends, and family.
Here, there is a restaurant owned by my childhood friend.
Here lies a country where, in the coldest days of winter,
you can wake up to a warm sunrise in Bandar Abbas

and in the south, you'll find islands stretched across the eternal
Persian Gulf.....

a name rooted in truth, honored by history, and inseparable from our identity.

And in the north, there is a city called Ardabil,
where summer feels like winter.
This is Tehran — my city — with the most beautiful springs and the fragrance of orange blossoms.
This is Shiraz — the land of Persepolis and Pasargad Tomb of Cyrus the Great

But...

But today, this land is no longer ours.
It is occupied by the enemies of the people.
Creating Bob’s Hub wasn’t just an attempt to help others.
To tell you the truth, it was first and foremost a way to help myself.

After the blow I took from this world —
after feeling rejected,
after the silence of exile and the weight of judgment —
I needed something that could help me slowly find my way back into the human community.

And BOB'S

became exactly that.
Not just a website,
not just forms and services —
but a bridge from my loneliness…
to the world of people who, even in pain, are still searching for hope.
